Connectivity
What options are available for clinicians to send data from their Windows Mobile devices to the HomecareNet Mobile system in the office?

There are five options available. The first is dial-up; the others involve use of a virtual private network along with one of four options: in the office with a wireless router, via a PC with broadband connectivity, via a wireless modem, and over a WiFi connection. Users can also directly connect via a laptop set up as a HomecareNet workstation.

Dial-Up: The standard option is modem-to-modem, via a traditional telephone line:

HomecareNet Mobile Dial-Up Connectivity

Equipment required:
For clinician: Windows Mobile device, modem (either internal modem or Bluetooth modem - both use a standard phone cord to plug into the phone jack)
At host: Traditional US Robotics 56K modem

Office Wireless Sync

HomecareNet Mobile Office Wireless Sync

Equipment required:
For clinician: Windows Mobile device with WiFi (built in or WiFi card)
At host: Wireless router

Other options require a virtual private network (VPN):

Home Sync

HomecareNet Home  Sync

Equipment required:
For clinician: Windows Mobile device with cradle and PC with VPN client installed
At host: Traditional US Robotics 56K modem

Office Sync

Equipment required:
For clinician: Windows Mobile device
At host: Windows Mobile device cradle

HomecareNet Wireless Connectivity

Equipment required:
For clinician: Windows Mobile device with WiFi (built in or WiFi card) and VPN client installed, wireless hot spot
At host: Traditional US Robotics 56K modem
